The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball continue to strengthen their already loaded roster, adding another international piece with the signing of Justine Loubens.
Short Article:
Head coach Dawn Staley has once again dipped into the international talent pool, securing a commitment from French standout Justine Loubens. The addition marks another key move in building South Carolina’s 2026 recruiting class into one of the nation’s most formidable groups.
Loubens, known for her shooting ability, arrives with both club and international experience. Staley praised her as “one of the best shooters coming out of France,” noting that her background at the professional and national levels has prepared her for the physical demands of SEC play.
The 6-foot guard/forward most recently played in France’s top league, where she averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting an efficient 63.9% from the field. Her résumé also includes strong performances for France’s youth national teams, highlighted by double-digit scoring and elite perimeter shooting in international competitions.
Loubens becomes the second French addition for the Gamecocks in this cycle, joining fellow international prospect Alicia Tournebize. Her signing further boosts a recruiting class already featuring multiple top-ranked prospects, giving South Carolina elite depth and versatility heading into the 2026–27 season.
With Loubens now in the fold, South Carolina continues to assert itself as a global recruiting powerhouse—and a perennial national title contender.
