Rangers ready last-ditch loan move to sign Stanley Nsoki as wage update emerges

Rangers are weighing up a loan move for Hoffenheim defender Stanley Nsoki, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported in its print edition (page 71, 29 August) that Philippe Clement is keen to add to his options in central defence.

Rangers have made contact with Hoffenheim as they look to bring Nsoki to Ibrox.

The Bundesliga side would be willing to let the 25-year-old leave on loan as long as the Gers covered the bulk of his wages.

Rangers to sign Stanley Nsoki on loan from Hoffenheim?
It is no secret that Clement needs reinforcements at centre-back. Following the departures of Conor Goldson and Ben Davies, the Gers are particularly light in that area of the pitch.

John Souttar, Robin Propper and Leon Balogun are the club’s only recognised centre-backs. However, funds are limited in Glasgow and a big-money signing therefore won’t be possible.

With just over a day remaining in the transfer window, there is still some time left for Clement to take advantage of the loan market.

And if his career thus far is anything to go by, bringing Nsoki to Ibrox would be quite the coup.

The Frenchman came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and has played at Under-21 level for France. He and Clement are familiar with each other, with the player having featured under the Belgian previously at Club Brugge.
