South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball just made another major SEC statement by landing

South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball just made another major SEC statement by landing elite five-star forward Oliviyah Edwards, a former Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball commit who reopened her recruitment earlier this year.

The 6-foot-3 standout is considered one of the top players in the 2026 class and chose coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks over several powerhouse programs. Edwards said South Carolina “felt like home,” praising the coaching staff and team culture.

Her commitment strengthens an already loaded South Carolina roster that features stars like Joyce Edwards and incoming recruits Jerzy Robinson, Kaeli Wynn, and Kelsi Andrews. Analysts already view the Gamecocks as early national title favorites for the 2026–27 season.
