Over the weekend, the New York rapper took to Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, for a sold-out Savannah Bananas game, this time bringing more than just his music.
After pumping up the crowd with his iconic hit “In da Club,” 50 Cent stepped to the mound to throw the first pitch against the Texas Tailgaters and this time, it was actually good.
No wild pitches, no ducking cameramen, just a solid throw that counted in Banana Ball.
Fans had a reason to cheer beyond the throw.
50 Cent debuted his new drink, the Branson Banana Blast, a nod to the Savannah team, cementing his Branson Cognac brand as the official spirits of the Bananas.
Midway through the night, he made a dramatic “in da clubhouse” entrance, rapping on his way to the mound before delivering a pitch that truly mattered.
Back in May 2014, 50 Cent famously flubbed a first pitch at Citi Field during a Pirates-Mets game, calling it a “never going away” embarrassment.
“I would have kept my a** in the stands,” he admitted in 2022.
But on Saturday night, he proved practice pays off melding music, swagger, and a surprisingly competent first pitch into a night fans won’t soon forget.
At Savannah, sports and entertainment collided once again and this time, the legend left the mound victorious.
