Darius Garland Provides Encouraging Update on Rehab, Eyes Strong Return for Upcoming Season

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland offered fans a wave of optimism this week, sharing that his recovery is right on track as he prepares for the upcoming season.

“Rehab’s been going really well. [I’m] back on the court, moving around. I’m ramping up for the season, so everything’s been good,” Garland said. “Doctor’s saying everything’s been looking great. So I’m happy where I’m at right now.”

Garland, who has been sidelined due to injuries that hampered stretches of last season, has become a vital piece of Cleveland’s core alongside Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. His ability to stretch the floor, create off the dribble, and serve as both a scorer and playmaker makes his health critical to the Cavaliers’ success in a crowded Eastern Conference.

The Cavaliers are optimistic that a fully healthy Garland will give them the offensive spark they missed at times last season. His return not only strengthens Cleveland’s backcourt but also provides stability in late-game situations, where his shot-making and vision are crucial.

With Garland now back on the court and steadily increasing his workload, the Cavaliers look poised to enter training camp with renewed energy and a sense of unfinished business. For Garland, it’s about turning the page and proving he can return to All-Star form.

“I’m just excited to be back with the guys and ready to compete,” Garland added. “The goal is to have a big year and help bring wins to Cleveland.”
