Celtic is not in a position where the departure of players dictates whether or not they will make signings in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Bhoys and Norwich City have just finalized a significant trade in which Adam Idah was signed for a possible add-on fee of up to £9.5 million.
Even though the market is booming in European competitions, Celtic hardly ever spends that much money on a single player.
Although it is widely acknowledged that the Bhoys are currently incredibly wealthy—at least when compared to other Scottish teams—there is little question that Brendan Rodgers’ budget was significantly reduced by the Idah acquisition.
However, the manager remains optimistic about Celtic’s ability to spend throughout the remaining weeks of the transfer market.
Brendan Rodgers highlights Celtic’s monetary might
When asked if exits would have to happen before other transactions could be finished, Rodgers [Celtic FC] said, “I don’t think so.” We are in an extremely excellent spot financially. Our actions shouldn’t be dictated by the sale of anyone. We don’t want to lose Matt O’Riley, as I’ve stated previously. We still need to strengthen in some areas, in my opinion, and we have the means to do so.
“What we can bring in won’t be determined by selling players. Our goal is to strengthen the team. That is not the same as the men here, who have been simply outstanding. For me, they have been excellent. It’s been wonderful that we can connect.
“You must constantly strive to get better. Our team has some holes where we lack depth in terms of players, coverage, and competitiveness. Therefore, we must put in a lot of effort to attempt and accomplish that before the end of the window.
