Even Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers publicly voiced his displeasure on Sunday, which escalated the situation. Rodgers didn’t hold back following a resounding 3-0 victory over St Mirren, voicing his displeasure with the club for continuing to pursue signings with just five days remaining in the transfer market. He was very clear that better recruitment was required.
This annoyance is not limited to the changing area. A video of a gathering of Celtics supporters confronting Chairman Peter Lawwell at St. Mirren Park appeared shortly after Rodgers’ remarks.
The exchange was tense; as one fan became very furious, Lawwell told him to “calm down” before turning to leave. Another fan swore at the chairman as Lawwell left, but other fans expressed their displeasure in a more subdued manner.
