Turkish powerhouses want to damage Tottenham’s departure by snatching a dependable Postecoglou lieutenant

Ben Davies may leave Tottenham to live in Turkey.

Before the Turkish transfer window closes, Tottenham may lose one of Ange Postecoglou’s most dependable players, according to claims that surfaced on Monday.

Clubs in Turkey have until September 13 to make new acquisitions, and it seems like Galatasaray is preparing a move for a defensive backup for Spurs who can fill a variety of roles in north London.

At Tottenham, Postecoglou has had a busy summer of comings and goings as he assembles a team he believes is far more compatible with the kind of game he like to play.

Another player who may be moving after his own Turkish connections is Sergio Reguilon, and Galatasaray is also keeping a close eye on experienced Welshman Ben Davies, according to sources in Turkey.

Davies has surfaced as a target for the Turkish champions, who have four days remaining in the Super Lig transfer window to bolster their roster.

As Victor Osimhen joins from Napoli, Takvim says Galatasaray is considering a move to a back five, with the Wales international viewed as the perfect fit to play on the left side of a back three in such formation. substitute

Given that English teams are no longer able to sign players during the summer transfer window—aside from adding free agents—the loss of Davies might be extremely detrimental to Postecoglou.

Tottenham has undoubtedly been considering a long-term replacement for Davies, as seen by their negotiations with Serie A team Lecce over a transfer for their left-back Patrick Dorgu.

This week, the 19-year-old has gained attention after scoring in just 42 seconds during his senior Denmark team debut after being substituted for the team’s Nations League match against Switzerland last week.

The defender, whose speed and ability to fly up and down the sides have drawn him parallels to Tottenham great Gareth Bale, is capable of playing as both an orthodox left-back and a left wing-back.

However, according to reports from Monday’s issue of Euro Paper Talk, Manchester United would put up a fight for Dorgu’s signature with Spurs.

Davies will be doing additional bench work.

Since joining Tottenham in 2014, Davies has proven to be a versatile defender; yet, Postecoglou has not utilized him much while Destiny Udogie is healthy.

Nonetheless, Davies was instrumental in helping Spurs win the previous season as he filled in at center back alongside fellow full-back Emerson Royal in a makeshift central defensive combination following Micky van de Ven’s injury and Cristian Romero’s suspension.

However, the source also states that Galatasaray is hoping to take advantage of the fact that Davies does not appear to be a regular starter this season and give him more playing time.

Davies may wind up playing in Galatasaray’s back three with Davinson Sanchez, his former Tottenham colleague, if he relocates to Turkey.
