Football Insider has been informed by sources that Swindon Town has begun negotiations to sign Gavin Kilkenny, a midfielder for Bournemouth.
The 24-year-old is now willing to let go in pursuit of regular first-team action because he is far down the Vitality Stadium hierarchy.
Swindon has acted swiftly to negotiate conditions in an attempt to outbid several EFL teams for the right to recruit the midfield player on loan for the upcoming campaign.
The League Two team is trying to bolster their midfield after losing George McEachran, who left to sign for Grimsby Town earlier this summer on a free transfer.
Their transfer squad is currently on high alert because of Kilkenny’s availability, and they are working hard to close a deal before the deadline of August 30.
