Strong rumors circulated that Wilfried Zaha will return to Crystal Palace before Friday, August 30, the transfer deadline. Fabrizio Romano even asserted that a deal was near before pulling back, but Steve Parish has since addressed the matter on talkSPORT.
Steve Parish’s remarks regarding Wilfried Zaha
The 59-year-old now acknowledges that it’s doubtful that Galatasaray and he will reach an agreement this summer.
Parish declared: “In a heartbeat, I would welcome Wilf Zaha back.” Regretfully, it doesn’t seem likely to happen this summer.
Galatasaray accepted the Ivory Coast international’s desire to depart, but an article from The Athletic claimed that “tax implications associated with a move back from Turkey” are likely to sabotage his hopes of returning to the Premier League this summer.
The same source stated that Leicester and Crystal Palace had been considering a loan transfer for Zaha; but, in light of Parish’s remarks, it would now be extremely surprising if a deal came to fruition.
