Monday night’s Premier League matchup between Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City will see the team begin play.
To earn a spot back in the top division at the first attempt, the Lilywhites will take on the Foxes, who won the Championship the previous season.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Spurs, will be looking to improve on his team’s fifth-place showing from the previous year.
However, it now seems possible that one of his team members may soon sign with the Foxes.
Oliver Skipp, a midfielder, has finished his medical, according to Football Insider, in front of a possible transfer to Leicester.
According to the source, there is full agreement between the two teams for the Englishman to relocate to The King Power Stadium.
In the near future, Skipp is expected to join Leicester City.
Leicester is reportedly set to pay an initial sum of £20 million plus add-ons for the 23-year-old.
Spurs have allowed Skipp to leave because Postecoglou decided the midfield player was surplus to requirements.
It is thought that the deal will be completed in the next few days. Skipp and Leicester are rumored to have reached a personal terms agreement.
The midfielder, a graduate of Tottenham’s youth program, has more than 100 senior matches under his belt for the London team in all competitions.
In a win over Chelsea in February 2023, he scored the team’s lone goal.
After starting just five Premier League games in his past season, the player, who still has less than three years left on his current Lilywhites contract, has decided to leave the team in pursuit of more consistent first team play.
