After leaving Rangers, Rachel Rowe, an attacking midfielder for Wales, joined with Southampton.
The 31-year-old, who has more than 60 caps for her nation, played for Reading for eight years before moving on to Rangers, where she was named PFA Scotland Player of the Year.
Rowe stated on Southamptonfc.com, “I’m hoping that coming down and being a part of something really worthwhile will be something that’s so ambitious.”
“I see myself as a senior player, but I’m excited for the journey and to be a part of this season because I’m not done learning.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Rachel to the club as our first signing of the summer; she’s a player that will add real quality and experience to the group both on and off the pitch,” said Marieanne Spacey-Cale, director of women’s football.
She is familiar with the requirements of playing in the WSL, a level we hope to attain, and we are excited to have her support us on this path.
