Sky Sports Give Celtic Goalkeeper Hunt Update

A few weeks into the summer, Celtic are in search of a goalkeeper following Joe Hart’s retirement.

The English stopper departed the Hoops on the most tremendous of highs. He was serenaded in his last home game at Parkhead a week before keeping a clean sheet in a Scottish Cup final victory over Rangers, which completed a domestic double.

Replacing Hart is likely the toughest job manager Brendan Rodgers has this summer, but it seems he has his sights set on two candidates.

Peter Vindahl Jensen and Martin Dubravka have been increasingly cited over the past 24–48 hours. Now, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reports that Celtic are interested in both as they try to replace Hart.

It is reported that Dubravka will be permitted to leave Newcastle this summer, with the 35-year-old on the Scottish champions’ transfer wishlist with Jensen, who has just signed permanently for Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic for £1m after an initial loan spell.

Getting recruiting in the goalkeeping department nailed on needs to be a focus for Celtic this summer.

Hart’s antics in the season gone by proved just how essential having the ideal figure between the sticks can be.

The veteran was nothing short of vital in the double success, and his successor must meet such heights.
