The completion of Matt O’Riley’s high-profile deal to Brighton & Hove Albion is expected to cause chaos for the Hoops in the final stages of the transfer window. The Scottish Premiership team led by Brendan Rodgers is off to a terrific start, and they are eager to add to the four players they have already brought in: Paulo Bernardo, Viljami Sinisalo, Kasper Schmeichel, and Adam Idah.

“The bottom line is on the pitch, so we can’t be happy just to make our money and build our pot. That’s the main point. The money is paid by the fans. I remember the Covid era well; the Celtic supporters were barred from entering the stadium after it was sold out.

Thus, it is our responsibility to field the strongest team possible. That is our course of action and our goal. It has taken a little longer than I had hoped. But we’ll be in a really, really strong position if we can improve the squad before Friday.

“From a mental and tactical standpoint, the team is performing well. But we wish to be more robust and profound. As the football manager, it’s taken far longer than I would have preferred. That’s my frank response to that. However, I’ll say it again. There is still a full season ahead of us if we can get them in. Thus, it’s critical that we do understand that. And I think we can pull it off.

Arne Engels, a midfielder for FC Augsburg, is wanted by Celtic, and he has already agreed to personal terms with the club before moving to Glasgow, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany.

Augsburg has reportedly made a £6.5 million bid for Engels, according to Sky Sports writer Anthony Joseph. Nevertheless, Plettenberg has stated that Engels is worth up to £10 million.

The 20-year-old appears to be improving at Augsburg, as seen by his Transfermarkt valuation skyrocketing to a career-high €9 million in May. He has 30 caps for Belgium’s youth teams across four age categories.

Engels, who is typically a central midfielder but can also play right midfield or right back, would provide Rodgers and Celtic with versatility. From the looks of things, he may arrive in Scotland before the deadline.
