Simon Jordan speaks out on Leeds United’s financial situation as player exodus continues

To say that Daniel Farke’s season has been difficult thus far would be an enormous understatement. Following the team’s three goals conceded in back-to-back home games, Leeds United supporters have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the boss.

Farke has a lot to think about after Middlesbrough humiliated him 3-0 on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup. In what was maybe one of the worst performances of the German’s reign, his periphery players just did not show up at Elland Road.

Is Farke’s position coming under increasing pressure? If the Whites don’t secure a sizable number of points from their games against Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, and West Bromwich Albion prior to the international break, then it will suffice.

The last time around, Farke, a two-time Championship winner, narrowly missed leading United to promotion. At the last possible moment, his team lost to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley.

“The fact of the matter is that Leeds United is a very big football club,” TalkSPORT expert Simon Jordan stated. Last season, they blew a chance. They are perhaps not as stable economically as one would want. [Andre] Radrizzani made large financial investments, some of which are clearly being felt by the new ownership structure.

“Any team that loses 3-0 at home will have some unhappy supporters,” the statement reads. On a Wednesday night, they host a League Cup game that draws 35,000 spectators, and they will express their opinions. On the other hand, you can boo something you don’t like if you can cheer something up. The noise will continue if it does, won’t it?

Farke’s problems have gotten worse after selling off talent worth over £80 million, including Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, and Crysencio Summerville, in order to balance the books. The amount is expected to increase even more as a result of Brighton and Hove Albion activating Georgia Rutter’s £40 million release clause. There are just two weeks remaining in the summer transfer window for Farke to bring in attacking replacements, and Rutter’s impending departure means that they will be missing yet another key player from the previous campaign.

“I would assume he will be receiving some money back,” Jordan continued. “The season is just one game in. We can’t just open our lips and start talking about how unhappy Leeds supporters are with Farke at any moment.
