Sean Dyche told to stage last-minute Championship ‘raid’ after Everon transfer updat

In order to get a new striker before the transfer deadline, Andy Townsend has instructed Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, to organize a last-minute Championship raid.

The Toffees, who were destroyed 4-0 by Tottenham in their most recent match, have lost both of their opening two Premier League games and are the only side in the division without a goal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goals will be crucial for Dyche’s team once more, and talkSPORT expert Townsend thinks the Toffees should try to sign a cheap contract with an EFL player in the closing days of the transfer window.

He stated, “Ipswich just went and got Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn, a proven goalscorer in the Championship,” in a Monday, August 26, 8:41, talkSPORT interview. Someone with a significant number of rattles.

You would imagine that Everton would be heading into the Championship and trying to raid something if they couldn’t find something that they would ideally like due to the expense and the difficulty in getting players to come.

“There must be one or two that would run through brick walls up in Scotland.”

Will Everton recruit any new players at Goodison Park before the transfer deadline?

Since the present team hasn’t looked like they’ll score a goal this season, it is obvious that the Toffees need to recruit a new number nine before the transfer market closes on Friday, August 30.

The main problem is at the top end of the field, even though there are many defensive worries at Goodison Park as well [TBR Football, August 25]. This is especially true given that Calvert-Lewin is still being connected to a late move away before the deadline.

The Blues don’t have millions to spend on a new forward because of Everton’s ownership and financial circumstances. However, Townsend makes the argument that it makes sense to acquire players from the Championship.

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin doesn’t sign a new deal, Everton may let him go.

Sure, it would be riskier to recruit a player from outside the Premier League than to pay a premium for a star with elite experience, but the Toffees can only spend what their money will allow.

If a new center-forward isn’t secured as quickly as possible, Dyche’s team may have a very challenging campaign.

In other Everton news, a new exit update from Goodison Park may allow the Toffees to pull off a last-minute Kieran Trippier swap deal.
