Jerry Yates will be joining Derby County on a season-long loan as their third summer transfer window addition, the club confirmed today.
The striker, who comes from Swansea City, gives Paul Warne and his team more options up front for the season.
Yates played under the Derby manager at Rotherham United, so this won’t be Yates’ first job under him.
The 27-year-old has spent time at Blackpool, where he developed a reputation for scoring goals, since their paths have parted.
As a result, he was traded to Swansea City, where he had a challenging season but ended up scoring eight Championship goals.
Yates’s future in Wales appears uncertain, but a transfer to Pride Park under a management with familiarity to the player could help him find his previous form again.
