Millwall defender set to complete move to Brentford

A Millwall defender is expected to finish moving to Brentford.

Josh Stephenson, a defender for MILLWALL, is about to finalize his transfer to Brentford.

The Lions under-18 team, led by versatile defender Stephenson, won the Professional Development League Cup the previous season.

One of the competition’s stars, Stephenson helped Larry McAvoy and Chris Perry’s team go to the FA Youth Cup semifinals before falling to Leeds United.

Stephenson and Brentford reached an agreement in July, however the transfer was postponed due to the young player’s back problem.

The paperwork has been finished by all sides, and this week the Bees are scheduled to finalize the agreement.

It is anticipated that Stephenson will start for Brentford’s B squad.

Two summertime academy graduates, Romain Esse and Alfie Massey, dedicated their futures to Millwall by signing long-term contracts.

Moreover, Millwall had made Stephenson an offer.

When discussing the arrangement with Massey, Lions manager Neil Harris made reference to young players having their heads turned, without mentioning Stephenson directly.
