Throughout Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving was loudly cheered on by the Celtics faithful; however, it appears that one fan got into the Mavericks star’s brain.

Irving led Dallas to a Thursday night loss to Boston at TD Garden with 12 points despite missing all five of his 3-point attempts. Every time the All-NBA guard touched the ball, C’s fans showered him with jeers and loud cries.

The 32-year-old, who fell short of winning his 11th consecutive game against the Celtics on Thursday, acknowledged the supporters following the game, joking that he had anticipated a louder crowd. Before the NBA Finals, Irving asserted that he had gotten over his TD Garden memories. That might not have been the case, though.

On 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Hardy,” Mike Gorman stated, “He was very busy during the same.” He was having an ongoing conversation with a man who was seated in the sixth row or so. He’s yelling at this guy and giving him the finger as he runs up and down the court. It’s simply absurd.

Gorman claimed to have watched Irving shouting derogatory remarks and gesturing to the fan who was staring at him from a few rows behind him. The Celtics’ retired announcer mentioned that he had seldom seen anything like this occur during a game.

The possibility that a fan could be meddling with Irving’s thoughts and impairing his performance would probably excite Boston supporters even more before Game 2. With a 2-0 series lead heading into Dallas, Irving and Luka Doncic of the Celtics will be hoping for a better reaction.
