Leon Bailey has already given Aston Villa perfect Raheem Sterling Chelsea transfer verdict

Leon Bailey has referred to Raheem Sterling as his brother and mentor. It is rumored that Aston Villa has begun discussions with Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for Sterling.

Sterling was cut from Enzo Maresca’s first-team plans at Chelsea, and he is presently training at home. It would be ideal if he and Chelsea could resolve his future permanently before the summer transfer market closes on Friday.

The 29-year-old joined Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, and he still has three years remaining on his £325,000-a-week contract.According to The Times, Unai Emery wants to expand his offensive options after losing Moussa Diaby to Al-Ittihad for £50.5 million last month, which is why Villa is reportedly considering a bid for Sterling.

Having last played for the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup, Sterling hopes to return to the England squad. The winger, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, is close with Villa’s Bailey, and the two of them got to know Prince William and Princess Catherine in 2022 when the Royals were visiting Jamaica as part of their Caribbean trip.

Bailey discussed his friendship with Sterling with Sky Sports a few months after they met with William and Kate.

“He was already a professional for Liverpool and I was only 16 years old,” he stated. Since then, we’ve just maintained a nice connection. He obviously moved on to City, where I signed my first professional deal.

Since then, I’ve been motivated by his achievement. We became like brothers after I decided to wear 31 when I got my first professional deal because I genuinely looked up to him.

He has just always been my brother, and I have been the same to him. We support one another. We talk about a wide range of topics. We talk about his unpleasant experiences at City every time. We always attempt to encourage one another by sending each other positive vibes and talking about my injuries.

“He’s a really gifted player who never fails to dazzle wherever he goes. What he’s been doing at Chelsea thus far has really impressed me. For many of the younger people who look up to him as much as I do, I therefore hope he will keep flying high.”
