Lawrence Shankland, the captain of Hearts, tried to scare Arne Engels away, but it didn’t work. Engels heard this in his ear seconds before scoring his first goal for Celtic.

Shankland and others gave Engels the rubber ear, with Celtic TV’s unique angle picking up the Jambos captain yelling “big pressure” and another person, thought to be Craig Halkett, yelling “£10m? aye right” in reference to Engels’ fee, which was the second-highest in Scottish football history and the highest since Tore Andre Flo 24 years ago.

Hearts was upset that VAR overturned their own decision, and Steven Naismith’s side is still stuck at the bottom of the Premiership table.Celtic won their fifth straight league game to start the season, and Rodgers was thrilled with his team’s determination before their first Champions League game on Wednesday against Slovan Bratislava.

“The bread and butter (the league), we can never forget that because it’s so important,” Rodgers said after the win. That’s how a lot of fans live, especially here in Glasgow who love their team.
