LATEST NEWS: Steven Gerrard wants to sign ‘physical’ player on loan from Everton before Friday’s deadline

Everton was among the numerous clubs that benefited from the incredible summertime spending binge by Saudi Arabians, during which the clubs from the Middle East went absolutely bonkers.

This free-spending mentality, which attracted some of Europe’s top talents with contracts that few could refuse, has undoubtedly dried up recently, forcing the Premier League to find other solutions in order to prevent additional PSR backlash.

That does not imply, however, that they could not make a few last-minute bids before the window closes.

In fact, just a year after they snatched one away from Goodison Park, Steven Gerrard’s team Al-Ettifaq are once again circling an Everton player.

Steven Gerrard and Everton begin transfer negotiations.

Journalist Ben Jacobs, who really took to X to deliver an update on Chelsea’s Harvey Vale’s future, has the most recent information on this chase.

Sean Dyche and Everton supporters, however, will be intrigued in what he writes right after this, since it seems that Gerrard is also open to signing a player who has only made one senior start for the team.

“Al-Ettifaq in talks with Harvey Vale over a permanent move, as @SamiMokbel81_DM called,” the correspondent wrote. Not yet in agreement. Club-to-club negotiations moved further, with #CFC seeking at least £400k and maybe as much as £800k in add-ons. Ettifaq is also looking into lending money to Reece Welch of Everton.

The 20-year-old, who had one successful loan stint with Forest Green Rovers, was previously praised by David Horseman, the interim manager, who said, “This is one we’re really excited about,” last summer. Many thanks to Everton for ensuring that it was completed.

“Reece is a very athletic centre back with excellent mobility.” He plays football beautifully. He is well-regarded at Everton and comes with a solid background. This season, he will be a big help to us.

More of Everton’s dead wood ought to be sent to Saudi Arabia.

It appears that nothing has happened on this front in the year after the Saudi Pro League made significant investments to ease the Premier League’s financial difficulties.

Of course, this summer has seen some significant changes, but none nearly as significant or regular as this item did the previous year.

After all, a lot of people may remember, among others, Sadie Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Neymar, and Karim Benzema leaving the pinnacles of European football in 2023 to play in the Middle East.

However, Demarai Grey was one of those players that left, providing Everton with a much-needed financial boost when he joined Gerrard’s team.

With their interest in Welch evident, maybe the Toffees should try to move some of their other dead wood out before their contracts expire and get paid for it. Neal Maupay, Mason Holgate, and Michael Keane, among others, might be offered in this situation.

Of course, everything is preferable to nothing.

Tonight marks Everton’s return to action as they take on Doncaster Rovers in an EFL Cup contest that they absolutely must win.

After a disastrous start to the new Premier League season, Sean Dyche has already witnessed a big increase in pressure on his job as Goodison Park welcomes League Two opponents, exactly as they did this time last year.

They are currently sitting atop the table after two losses, zero goals, and seven concessions, and he and the team are just itching for some sort of respite.

That might come tonight.

But he has to make a few unavoidable choices if he wants to actually start bringing people over to his side. This includes giving one player a special start.

Tonight, Sean Dyche needs to start one Everton player.

Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed to us earlier this week that Dyche’s future at Everton is uncertain.

“Dyche is a dead man walking,” the journalist said, referring to his team selection at the beginning of the season, which has seen new acquisitions Jake O’Brien, Jesper Lindstrom, and Iliman Ndiaye left out of the starting lineups. He is, in fact.

“The current club performances have nothing to do with the new owners.” I believe Dyche may leave before new owners take over.

“I believe that Dyche has a good chance of leaving within a few weeks.” The team selection and the performance we witnessed last weekend [against Brighton].

He’s walking on thin ice. I would be shocked if he was still Everton’s manager. I would be completely stunned.

Given that, it’s essential that the last member of the aforementioned three gets started tonight, at the absolute least. It could even mean his job.

Iliman Ndiaye’s debut has been anticipated by Everton supporters.

Ndiaye was one of Everton’s most thrilling summer acquisitions, having signed for £15 million from Marseille.

A talented attacker, who has most recently survived a very difficult year in France but has previously flourished in England with Sheffield United. who promises to bring something that the club has been lacking for years.

After making that previous transfer, journalist Quentin Gesp dubbed him a “magic” player. After a season in which he scored 14 goals and assisted 11 as the Blades won the Championship and advanced to the next round, the expectation is that he can add some much-needed quality to strengthen the team.

For Ndiaye, it is his first opportunity to perform for free in front of his new home crowd.

If Dyche chooses not to, it might ignite a pre-match controversy that could lead to his impending dismissal.

He has to start repairing his relationship with the supporters; he cannot afford to keep putting himself at odds with them. Tonight is a fantastic chance to do just that.
