LATEST NEWS: Player’s agents were pushing Nottingham Forest move – Never offered enough, he needed convincing

Omar Marmoush’s representatives were pushing for a possible transfer to Nottingham Forest, even though the player was never all that interested.

Frankfurter Rundschau, which reports on the striker’s decision to remain with Eintracht Frankfurt and the circumstances surrounding it, claims that.

They say that everyone at the German club is pleased with Marmoush’s decision to stay with the German team on deadline day.

The Egyptian international, who scored 17 goals in his final season as their “absolute top performer,” is something they are thrilled to have kept. The fact that he only made his choice to stay public on Friday, however, indicates just how close he was to quitting.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team was battling for the forward as a move to the Premier League, and more specifically to Nottingham Forest, was “on the cards.”

They never came close to meeting Frankfurt’s €35 million expectations, but sports director Markus Krösche would have agreed to sell to them at the right price.

Neither did the player “really warm” to the notion of the move. He would rather hold off and possibly become one of England’s “heavyweights.” Nottingham Forest is not one of them, in his opinion.

His management was the ones pressuring for the transfer to take place. Nevertheless, they failed to persuade their client, and he made the decision to remain in Frankfurt for a minimum of one more year.
