We have been working very hard over the last few months to put the final touches on the artwork for our new two-volume history that covers Celtic in the 1930s. Celtic Star Books will publish the history next month.
It was a pleasant surprise to receive a call yesterday morning enquiring if I had watched the most recent Celtic TV video featuring custodian Kasper Schmeichel. As of late, early starts and late endings have been the norm.
The call concluded with me having to concede that, like with pretty much everything else right now, I wasn’t up to date on that.
When you get a moment, have a peek. It could make you feel better.
I’m curious now.
I put the book prep on hold for a bit so I can look at it. To be honest, I have no idea what I’m looking for, but I’m going to text someone to ask for help when I find it.There’s my old book Majic, Stan and The King of Japan on the coffee table, along with the bios of captain Calum McGregor and James Forrest, the newest member of Celtic’s elite 500 Club.
As ridiculous as it may sound, I still get a big kick out of seeing my books on display at bookshops, so seeing it in the Celtic video was a great little pick-me-up on a hectic Monday morning. One of my greatest memories from the last 20 years or so is watching Shunsuke Nakamura unleash his magic in the Hoops. technically proficient and capable of delivering the goods under extreme pressure on important occasions. Champions League. Those who decide titles. The trials of a real Celtic. I was so happy to tell this story in the autumn of last year.
In the years to come, Kasper should be able to add Calmac, Jamesie, and Naka to the list of players who our fans adore. Hopefully, his Celtic career will be filled with many more moments like these.
In case you, like me, missed Kasper Schmeichel’s interview with Celtic TV, here it is!
