LATEST NEWS: Crystal Palace Bid Accepted on two late Euro signings

As part of their ongoing defensive makeover, Crystal Palace is reportedly planning trades for Benfica’s Tomas Araujo and Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix, according to sources who spoke to Football Insider.

After losing Joachim Andersen to Fulham, the Eagles, who had previously acquired Chadi Riad to strengthen their defensive ranks this summer, are considering their alternatives in the market.

On Monday, August 26, Football Insider disclosed that Newcastle United is still “confident” that they would be able to sign Palace striker Marc Guehi prior to the transfer deadline.

Oliver Glasner’s team would have to establish a whole new centre-back duo as a result of that transaction, and they are already taking action in that regard.

Lacroix, a 24-year-old whose contract expires in 2025, is a priority target for Palace, who have already had a proposal for the former Glasner employee accepted.

Lacroix and Araujo receive more attention from Crystal Palace.

The Croydon club, meanwhile, plans to make another offer in the last few days of the window after Benfica rejected their previous one for Araujo.

Anel Ahmedhodzic of Sheffield United is reportedly also on the Palace shortlist, and a number of other Premier League teams are also keeping an eye on the Bosnian international.

After losing their opening two Premier League games of the year, Palace will play Chelsea on Sunday, September 1st, in the top tier.
