Ipswich want to sign player Tottenham sold for £6m after earning promotion to the Premier League

Ipswich is beginning to be fairly active in the market, and following Ben Johnson’s medical, they already have their sights set on a second signing.

The West Ham No. 2’s deal is set to expire next week, and the Guardian understands that the club has moved to sign him on a free transfer after he cleared his medical.

Currently, Tottenham is trying to sign a defender that was let go by the club back in 2022, according to Kielan McKenna’s team.

Want Cameron Carter-Vickers, Ipswich

Throughout his 115 games with the Hoops, Carter-Vickers has won three Scottish Premierships, two Scottish Cups, and two Scottish League Cups.

The Southend-on-Sea native is reportedly the target of Ipswich, however TalkSPORT does not go into great detail about it. McKenna is rumoured to have made the decision to sign Carl Rushworth from Brighton in order to be the starting quarterback at Portman Road in the Premier League.

Tottenham Want £24k-p/w "Immense" Dier Replacement

Carter-Vickers made 31 appearances for Celtic in the centre of defence last season, contributing one assist and one goal.

Tottenham may benefit financially from the transaction.

When Carter-Vickers was traded to Celtic in 2022, Tottenham reportedly negotiated a sell-on clause, according to information found on the internet.

Though these specifics are frequently withheld, particularly in the case of less well-known deals like a £6 million deal, Spurs might be entitled to a portion of the money Ipswich decides to offer Celtic for the defender this summer.

Tottenham should be proud to see one of their academy graduates being regarded as the man to help tighten up Ipswich’s defence and offer the Tractor Boys the best opportunity of staying in the Premier League, regardless of whether there is a sell-on clause or not.
