Plymouth Argyle: Wayne Rooney’s success depends on Morgan Whittaker’s transfer silence: Look at
Until August is done, the new Pilgrims manager will be hoping that his star player stays out of the spotlight.
The 33-year-old glovesman has acknowledged that he is unsure of his future plans, but there have been no signs as of yet that he would stay on at Portman Road past the summer.
Hladky stated, “I don’t know (about my future) and, truth be told, I don’t know when I’ll find out,” in an interview with Canal+ Sport in his own country.
“I believe my contract expires on June 30th, so that’s the deadline. If my dates are correct, that is Saturday, and we return for training on Monday. I should find out in that week if I’ll be at Ipswich or if there’s something else in store for me.
“We have been quite clear that Ipswich is our first choice and that I want to stay and prolong my career there ever since we began contract negotiations in January.
Michael Cooper, Vaclav Hladky Championship comparison 23/24
After suffering a series of injuries, he was only able to make 19 appearances in the Championship the previous season. However, once healthy, the custodian showed everyone why he has been regarded as one of the best in the nation since making his breakthrough.
As top Championship teams and elite teams are sure to be interested in signing Cooper, Town won’t be the only team attempting to entice him to the club this summer. According to Alan Nixon, a journalist for The Sun, there has already been “widespread interest” in Cooper.
According to Nixon, Aston Villa has previously expressed interest in the player. However, if the East Anglian team moves quickly, they may have an exceptional talent at their disposal for the upcoming season, one that will only become better with time.
Even with the disheartening news, Argyle will be pleased to cash in on their academy graduate this summer and add to the playing roster ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign with what seems to be a club-record amount.
