Ipswich Town man could leave despite contract offer, reporter suggests

Ipswich Town ‘may’ lose goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky this summer, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Ipswich Town are prepared for life in the Premier League following their recent promotion from the Championship. They climbed promoted along with Leicester City and Southampton and have a big couple of months ahead as they attempt to improve their ranks.

Hladky, 33, has been given a new agreement by the Tractor Boys but has yet to put pen to paper. His current contract ends at the end of the month, and he is due to become available as a free agent as things stand.

In this newest update regarding his predicament by journalist Nixon on Patreon, he ‘could leave’ Portman Road in pursuit of another challenge elsewhere. Kieran McKenna’s side have been linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion stopper Carl Rushworth after his loan spell at Swansea City and have taken up their option on Christian Walton.

Hladky is a ‘keeper who is capable of playing out from the back, which matches McKenna’s approach.

However, he might not be assured the number one shirt in the top division in the next campaign, which may be why he hasn’t signed an extension yet.

He is a useful player to have in and around the squad, as he can play Ipswich Town’s way and is immensely experienced.

Hladky travelled over to the UK back in 2019 when St. Mirren scooped him up. Prior to his departure to Scotland, the 6ft 4inc giant played for FC Zbrojovka Brno and Slovan Liberec.

He played 59 matches for the Buddies altogether before Salford City lured him down the line. He then made 53 outings for the Ammies prior to his transition to his present club.

The Tractor Boys will be watching to see where he remains, but if he does leave out the exit door, they will need to locate a replacement.

Ipswich Town announced their retained list last week and confirmed that Dominic Ball, Panutche Camara, Nick Hayes, and Kayden Jackson have left.

Omari Hutchinson, Kieffer Moore, Jeremy Sarmiento, Lewis Travis, and Brandon Williams have all gone back to their original clubs, while options have been taken on Cameron Burgess, Idris El Mizouni, Axel Tuanzebe, and Walton.
