Ibrox View: ‘Dispensable’ Rangers star drops Ibrox exit hint with new social media post

Throughout his tenure at Rangers, Todd Cantwell has been a contentious character, and this summer transfer window hasn’t changed.

The offensive midfielder has been mentioned as a potential departure as Philippe Clement attempts to make his mark on the Gers team. Sources claim that he is “dispensable” if the proper offer is made for his services [Chris Jack, 28 May].

After a dismal season at Ibrox, some fans are devastated by this announcement, while other fans and analysts have acknowledged that they believe it’s time for the former Norwich City player to move on.

However, Cantwell’s most recent social media post suggests that he isn’t even considering leaving the Gers this summer, so speculation regarding his departure may be a little premature.

Will Todd Cantwell be sold by Rangers at Ibrox during the summer transfer window?

With the message “The best is coming,” the Englishman shared a video montage of his greatest experiences wearing a Light Blues jersey on Instagram on Saturday, June 29.

This isn’t official, but it seems to imply that Cantwell is holding out hope for something more at Ibrox. If that’s the case, it’s highly unlikely that he will be among those who leave before the new season begins.

Although things might easily change if the proper kind of offer were made for his services in the upcoming weeks and months, it currently appears like the Englishman’s summer departure is not in the cards.

The 26-year-old has to step it up if he wants to stay in Glasgow, especially in the Old Firm games where he gives up too many opportunities to be taken out of the game by the Celtic midfield.

Hopefully, he is correct in his prognosis, and the midfield player wearing a Gers shirt has plenty more to offer. He must speak up on the pitch rather than on social media if he hopes to maintain the support of the supporters.
