However, Cantwell’s most recent social media post suggests that he isn’t even considering leaving the Gers this summer, so speculation regarding his departure may be a little premature.

With the message “The best is coming,” the Englishman shared a video montage of his greatest experiences wearing a Light Blues jersey on Instagram on Saturday, June 29.

This isn’t official, but it seems to imply that Cantwell is holding out hope for something more at Ibrox. If that’s the case, it’s highly unlikely that he will be among those who leave before the new season begins.

Although things might easily change if the proper kind of offer were made for his services in the upcoming weeks and months, it currently appears like the Englishman’s summer departure is not in the cards.

The 26-year-old has to step it up if he wants to stay in Glasgow, especially in the Old Firm games where he gives up too many opportunities to be taken out of the game by the Celtic midfield.
