Hull City expected to offload 2021 signing with Millwall keen

According to a report by HullLive, Hull City is “likely” to sever connections with Ryan Longman this summer due to Millwall’s intense opposition.

The attacker is anticipated to be sold by Hull City during this transfer window in order to make room for the upcoming Championship campaign. They are preparing for life under Tim Walter, the new manager who took over for Liam Rosenior.

Longman, 23, was allowed to leave the MKM Stadium on a temporary basis just over a year ago, and he spent the previous campaign on loan at Millwall. In 35 games in all competitions, he scored three goals for the Lions.

According to HullLive’s most recent update on his condition, he is not expected to remain with the Tigers for the upcoming season. The notion of having Neil Harris return to The Den in some capacity is something that his supporters are considering.

He has lost favour with the East Yorkshire team, though, and it would be best for everyone if he were allowed go permanently.

Hull City expected to sell Millwall target Ryan Longman

If the Tigers don’t sell him now or in January, they run the prospect of losing him for nothing the following season—that is, if he doesn’t sign a contract extension before then.

Before making one appearance for the first squad, Longman played regularly for Brighton & Hove Albion at several different youth levels after rising through the academy system.

In 2021, he completed a loan stint at AFC Wimbledon to gain some experience prior to being approached by Hull City.

The Redhill native was permitted to join Millwall despite only managing the Tigers for 73 games and seven goals. Under former manager Liam Rosenior, he fell down the ladder.

What comes next?

Walter will have the opportunity to see Longman when he reports for preseason.

To make room and money to sign other players, Hull City should strive to get him off their books as soon as possible.
