Hatters boss understands ‘angry’ reaction from Luton fans following QPR loss

The Luton manager, Rob Edwards, is fully aware of the fans’ mixed emotions of annoyance and indignation following their team’s heartbreaking 2-1 loss to QPR on Friday night.

The Hatters entered the game seeking their first win since they beat AFC Bournemouth at Kenilworth Road on April 6. Since then, they have lost five of their previous six Premier League games and have only managed a point from a 1-1 draw with Everton. Town hasn’t had a great start to the Championship, having lost 14 of their previous 17 games. They suffered their third defeat in as many games, and after losing to the same opponents in the Carabao Cup midweek, they now have 10 games without a win in all categories.

The final whistle was met with boos on Friday. Although Edwards received some sympathetic applause after the game, strolling around the field as he normally does regardless of the outcome, the manager was eager to extend an apology. When asked how the fans were responding, he responded, “I get it, some fans, they’re mixed, I can feel it.”
