Fabio Silva drops ‘Crazy’ admission as he speaks out after Rangers loan

Wolves forward Fabio Silva has opened up about his experience at Ibrox during a six-month loan with Rangers this season.

The 21-year-old winger was an incredibly polarising figure as Philippe Clement exploited him at Ibrox, making 25 appearances in all competitions, notching six goals in all competitions.

Silva has struggled to adapt to life at Molineux Stadium since his £35.6million arrival from Porto in 2020, as per BBC Sport, and seemed to find his feet in Scotland on loan.

Speaking to SPORTbible on Thursday (6 June), Silva said: “Rangers fans are crazy. They love their football. Those Europa League nights were special. It was amazing to be in that surroundings.

“The coach was very important for me. He was extremely open and we discussed views. I played on the left wing but it’s crucial for me to play in different spots. It was fantastic.

“I don’t have regrets in life. Everything happens for a reason. I adored playing at Rangers. I feel more complete after playing in a couple different positions. I wouldn’t change anything. It’s a new nation with new teammates. Rangers are a big team. I enjoyed it.”

Silva had his fair share of criticism during his six months at Ibrox, especially being lambasted for his performances in the Old Firm derbies against Celtic.

The teenage winger was quick to go to ground and was lambasted by the Gers fans owing to this, yet that seemed to alter, with some thinking that Clement had words with him about his behaviour.

Silva is still a young prospect, one that has experienced a rough start to life in the Premier League but should have put some confidence up after his loan term in Scotland.

It is apparent that Silva learned a lot away from his six-month period under the tutelage of Clement, which he will hopefully bring with him into the future of his career and look back with love to Ibrox.

Following the completion of his loan, the club will need to begin a search for wingers this summer, though they have already re-signed Oscar Cortes on loan from Lens.

In other Rangers news, an exit-bound Ibrox ace has been mooted to obtain a new deal on exceptional conditions.
