Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is in a race against time to add a goal striker to their roster with just three days remaining in the window.

The only teams with less goals scored in 2023–2024 than Nottingham Forest were Everton, Sheffield United, and Burnley. Forest are only scoring one goal per game on average this term, despite the sample size being obviously quite small.

However, despite their best efforts, the two-time European winners have had trouble completing their striker acquisitions.

For Santiago Gimenez, Nottingham Forest and Feyenoord, the Dutch powerhouses, reached a £28 million—possibly rising to £30 million—agreement on Monday. The Mexico international is allegedly hesitant to relocate to the City Ground, though.

Eddie Nketiah, an Arsenal benchwarmer, is no longer a target for Forest.

Yoane Wissa is another transfer target who could have the same outcome after Brentford rejected a proposal of £25 million.

Brentford turns down Nottingham Forest’s offer for Yoane Wissa.

HITC can disclose that Brentford is not at all interested in allowing the international player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to leave his West London surroundings.Exclusive: Wolves name “magic” Pedro Neto substitute; team may sell star this summer.

With his versatility, quickness, and accurate finishing ability, the late-blooming 27-year-old is one of the Premier League’s most underappreciated strikers.

Last season, Wissa made 29 starts and scored 12 goals, stepping up well during Ivan Toney’s protracted suspension. In addition, the bargain £8.5 million acquisition from FC Lorient scored one goal and assisted on the other during Brentford’s opening-round 2-1 victory over London rivals Crystal Palace.

In the competition, Wissa, Toney, and the equally underappreciated Bryan Mbeumo make up one third of one of the most dynamic and intriguing frontlines.

They appear to be really skilled gamers. We knew that Wissa had a history of scoring goals, Bees manager Thomas Frank stated to The Standard in 2023. “In the Premier League, he scored seven goals in the first season and another seven in the second.

Brentford 3-2 Nottingham Forest: Ivan Toney scores on return from ban as Neal Maupay nets winner for Bees - Eurosport

It’s amazing for a player who didn’t play much. He is most effective as a (number) nine, in my opinion. He has a good eye for goals.

Ivan Toney might relocate to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.

HITC has been informed that although Brentford is keen to retain onto Wissa, they are more receptive to bids for their lucky charm, Toney.

The latter will become a free agent in less than a year, while the former has two years remaining on his contract.

Since their planned transfers to Premier League powerhouses have not materialised, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Manchester United have shifted their focus elsewhere. Toney has now expressed his desire to relocate to the Middle East to the Brentford management.

Al-Hilal and the England international have reached a personal agreement.

However, a lot more work needs to be done before a deal is sealed. Al-Hilal’s offer is now at £35 million, while Brentford is seeking £50 million.

If Nottingham Forest decides to give up on Wissa, Nketiah, and Gimenez permanently, it will be interesting to see where they go from there.

Additionally, they’ve expressed interest in Armando Broja, a misfit for Chelsea.

However, with Portman Road manager Kielan McKenna stating that talks are ongoing, it appears that the £30 million-rated Albanian will instead sign for Ipswich Town.
