This summer, Giovanni van Bronckhorst prioritised adding a left defender, and in recent weeks, Sergio Reguilón of Tottenham Hotspur has been connected to the team.

But after expressing interest in the young man earlier in the summer, it appears that they have returned to Yılmaz.

Yilmaz played 32 games for the Rangers in the previous campaign, tallying two goals. After joining the Scottish team in 2022 from Besiktas, he is under contract with them until June 2027.
