Everton Table £24m Bid for Barcelona Star Vitor Roque

In light of uncertainty surrounding Calvert-Lewin and Beto’s futures, Everton has submitted a £24 million bid for Barcelona star Vitor Roque. The Toffees want to bolster their offensive line.
Blues are still keen even when Barcelona promptly rejects their offer.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports reports that Everton has submitted a £24 million proposal for Barcelona forward Vitor Roque.

After keeping the team in the Premier League last season despite an eight-point deduction, Sean Dyche is hoping to avoid another relegation battle, thus the Toffees are eager to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline.

The Blues are considering their options because the futures of attackers Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are unclear, and the Brazilian star has surfaced as a possible candidate.

The teenager’s future at Camp Nou is now in doubt, and Everton is reportedly still exploring a move for him, according to Sky Sports journalist Plettenberg via his personal X account.

Barcelona informed Everton that they would prefer to pay between €30 and €35 million to allow the 19-year-old to leave the team after rejecting the initial offer, which was worth €25 million plus an additional €3 million in add-ons.

The La Liga giants are eager to let Roque move on despite making a significant investment to recruit him from Brazil last season, even if he presently occupies a far lower position on Hansi Flick’s team. Sporting director Deco is still in negotiations with the Goodison Park team regarding a transaction.

Coming from Atletico Paranaense, Roque had a great reputation as Brazil’s next big thing; scout Jacek Kulig called the forward “truly magnificent” despite his advanced age. However, he hasn’t found success at Camp Nou, and it now appears that he may go.

Everton has already added Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom to their roster from Marseille and Napoli, respectively, and re-signed Jack Harrison on a loan from Leeds United.

Everton is eager to add more players before the August 30th deadline, even though the team has been active in the transfer market this summer to bolster the roster.

Following Amadou Onana’s £50 million departure to Aston Villa, one important area to bolster is central midfield, where England international Kalvin Phillips has surfaced as a target to join on loan.

The midfield player, who moved to Manchester City from Leeds two summers ago, has not been seen since. He also had a terrible loan at West Ham during the second half of the previous season, which caused him to suffer throughout preseason.

Although Man City would prefer a permanent transfer, Dyche is eager to give him a fresh start, and the two clubs may agree on a loan move towards the conclusion of the window.
