Croatian striker Ante Crnac signs for Norwich City

Norwich City has successfully acquired Croatian striker Ante Crnac.

The highly regarded 20-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Carrow Road after joining from Polish team Rakow Częstochowa for an undisclosed sum that is thought to be around £8.5 million plus add-ons. with one additional year’s option.

Crnac is anticipated to register in time for the Canaries’ upcoming Championship match at Carrow Road on Saturday against Sheffield United, as the team announced his arrival on Thursday night.

The arrival of the Croatian Under-21 international puts an end to City’s search for a dynamic successor, since Adam Idah was lost to Scottish champions Celtic earlier this month after returning for £8.5 million.

Crnac joins City as its sixth summer transfer window signing, joining Amankwah Forson, Callum Doyle, Ben Chrisene, and Jose Cordoba.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Crnac remarked, “I cannot express how excited I am and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and play.”

“The club presented me with a development plan that outlined their vision for me. My family and I have concluded that it feels like the right move for me, and I truly like that notion.

It has been a hectic few days. However, it is the reality of life for football players, and we must adjust accordingly. Naturally, I watched some Championship games and kept up with the Premier division, which I know is a very competitive division. among the most powerful.

“I believe that my finest plays come when I can face the goal and drop between the lines. I enjoy having the ball at my feet, but I also enjoy shooting, assisting, and scoring goals.”

“Ante is a very exciting talent, and someone we have been tracking for some time,” said Ben Knapper, sporting director of City.

“Although he is a young player and will require some time to get used to his new teammates, environment, and playing style, we think he can succeed here in the long run. He is a true asset, and we think we can develop him into an elite player.

“We’re delighted to be able to welcome him to the club and are excited to see how he can progress, improve and help the team.”

Their pursuit of the Croatian accelerated when, last week, a medical problem derailed a permanent transfer for Bergot Yildirim, a forward for Rennes, even though the agreement was well advanced.

After that, City focused on Crnac because of his ability to play throughout the forward line. Together with Josh Sargent, Ashley Barnes, and youthful Ken Aboh, he will strengthen a formidable striking stable.

Crnac started his professional career with the Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb. He later transferred to Slaven Belupo, where he scored 11 goals in 56 games. After that, the young player moved to Poland, where his all-around abilities in the Ekstraklasa have seen him flourish.

According to reports, the Croatian is occupying one of City’s ESC (Elite Significant Contribution) slots, which allow them to sign a limited number of foreign players without requiring a work permit due to changes in regulations made after Brexit.

The 20-year-old will join Drazen Muzinic in the 1980s as City’s second-ever Croatian-born player to play for the team.

Additionally, Norwich is deep in talks to sign Danish Under-19 international Oscar Schwartau.

The adolescent left for England to get a physical and finalize personal details after Norwich and Brondby reportedly worked out a £2.1 million contract for the young player.
