Class of 2026 Tackle Maddox Cochrane Staying Locked in For Last HS Year as He Commits to Wisconsin Badgers Over…

Maddox Cochrane declared in April that he is 100 percent locked in to the Wisconsin Badgers after verbally committing to the team.

He still has one year left in high school and will be just as ‘locked in’ not only to give Benedictine High School football glory but also to prepare himself for tougher challenge in college.

The offensive tackle is already heavy at 6’7 and 280 pounds and now, he is more focused on getting stronger.

“I was at practice for rugby every day, and then I was getting to lift, and I was super tired and doing a lot. And then, rugby season ended, and I’ve been in the weight room quite a bit,” he said in an exclusive with Badger 247’s Nick Osen.

“So, that is definitely something that I am gonna try to do, to stay locked in on. And then, I just feel like I have so many goals that I accomplished last year, that I need to make sure I get to this year. I got first-team All-State and all-Metro last year. So, I don’t want to short myself in my senior year, of getting stuff like that.”

Cochrane and Benedict are gunning for for a third straight state championship in the new season.

Crochane will be one if not the biggest in head coach Luke Fickell’s squad once he joins the team next year.

He will still need help learning the ropes of the Badgers’ brand of game and good thing for him, the current O-line are very helpful.

“At a lot of places, you maybe don’t connect with the current guys as much. But there in Madison, those guys are super nice, super genuine,” he said.

Cochrane is one of the 13 commits for Badgers in the Class of 2026. Among those we will work with  are 6’6 Benjamin Novak, 6’7 Jack Janda, and 6’4 Jack Sievers.
