Cheaper tickets and a rotating stage on deck for Boston Calling 2025
Changes are coming to this year’s Boston Calling.
The multi-genre Memorial Day weekend music festival announced a few improvements on Instagram Thursday, including reduced ticket prices, the merging of two main stages into one, and the return of an air-conditioned area that was eliminated following the pandemic.
Boston Calling returns to the grounds of Harvard’s Athletic Complex on May 23 and runs for three days.
These alterations could be in response to criticisms from music fans over the high cost of entry to New England’s largest music festival, along with complaints about crushing crowds in front of the Red and Green stages for artists including Noah Kahan in 2023 and Chappell Roan in 2024.
Scroll down the Boston Calling post and festival goers have passionately chimed in about the changes while airing grievances. Many raised the issue of VIP and Platinum tickets, saying they eat up standing room and views for those with general admission tickets. A lack of sufficient bathroom facilities, emergency services, safe spaces for attendees with disabilities and crowd control were also cited, along with complaints that the festival oversells tickets.
There were a few questions about the two main stages becoming a single stage that rotates “to provide better views” and more space for roaming. Boston Calling representatives aren’t elaborating on any of the new information at this time.
Many Instagram users applauded the festival and its promised changes, including more water stations and cheaper tickets.
Fans also weighed in on their hopes for the festival’s 2025 lineup. Some pleaded for less pop and more rap, electronic, indie, rock and metal artists.
