It’s a new era in Europe – gone is the group stage, replaced by one large group under the new ‘Swiss system’. Instead, teams have earned their spot at European football’s top table will play eight games – two at home and two on the continent.

Each team will play two teams from each pot (one to four) with a maximum of two from the same nation. Liverpool and City were seeded in Pot 1 thanks to their strong UEFA co-efficient rankings.

On September 17–19, 2024, Matchday 1 will mark the start of the campaigns for all five British teams, including Celtic, who were in pot three, with the goal of placing in the top eight in the new league structure.

All five British teams, including Celtic who were in pot three, will kick off their campaigns on Matchday 1 – between 17–19 September 2024 – as they look to finish in the top eight of the new league format.
