Brendan Rodgers, the boss of Celtic, has talked about why he took Greg Taylor off the field in the middle of tonight’s game against St. Johnstone.

The left back was taken off at halftime as the Hoops easily won 6-0 in Perth.
After a great first 45 minutes in which he set up Yogi Furuhashi’s second goal of the night with a beautiful cross into the box, Taylor was subbed off by manager Rodgers.
He was replaced by Alex Valle, who was on loan from Barcelona. Valle did himself no harm by playing very well in the second half.
The Spanish player looked like he could attack from the left side, and he set up Adam Idah for a great team move that gave the Celts a 6-0 lead.
Going into the second half, there were some questions about the choice to replace Taylor, but manager Rodgers has since made things clear.
The Irishman said that Taylor had a little pain after the game and that there was no point in taking any chances since Celtic was already up 3-0.
“We had Greg just felt a tightness in his calf in the first 15 minutes”, said the boss (The Celtic Way).
“So just precautionary, we take him off and put Alex in. And yeah, we hope that he should be fine. And obviously, it just allowed us to manage some of the other guys as well.”
Away at Dortmund, Rodgers will ideally want his first-choice starting 11 available.
