As demands surface, Rangers move to complete Jackson Porozo’s transfer.
According to Football Scotland, Rangers have made an attempt to sign Jackson Porozo, a center-back for Troyes.
The internet source said on Saturday, August 24, that the Germans made contact with the French club, but Philippe Clement’s team decided to pursue other targets since their demands were inappropriate.
Ben Davies is expected to sign a loan with Birmingham City before the transfer window closes on August 30. It is known that the Light Blues are looking for a central defender to take his place [Daily Record].
Ben Davies to be replaced by a new center back for Rangers?
Even with Davies scheduled to go on loan, it is not shocking to see the Gers connected with other defenders before the transfer window closes, given their lack of security at the back.
Although Porozo appears to be a promising young player, Clement needs to bring in a young player with a wealth of experience. Porozo is only 24 years old and has made eight appearances for Ecuador on the international stage.
The squad’s elder players, such Leon Balogun and James Tavernier, who appear to be nearing the conclusion of their careers, account for a large portion of the present experience.
Clement will be left with Balogun, Robin Propper (who has had a mixed record in Scotland thus far), John Souttar, and Clinton Nsiala (who has been playing with the B squad) as Davies is off to the Championship.
Manager Philippe Clement of Rangers
Rangers have to play fierce attacking and tight defense if they hope to challenge Celtic, their Old Firm rivals, for the Scottish Premiership. Whether Clement can accomplish either of those two goals before the window shuts is still to be seen.
