The most recent transfer involving Birmingham City is that they are reportedly interested in Rangers winger Scott Wright.

This summer transfer season, Birmingham City is expected to add a second Rangers player. Scottish rumors suggest that Scott Wright, a winger, would sign with the Blues prior to Friday night’s deadline.

Wright, 27, was raised in Aberdeen and joined the Pittodrie first team after passing through the Dons youth, where he played for 80 games. In 2020, he moved to Rangers, where he was coached by Steven Gerrard. During his time there, the team won the Scottish Premier League, the Scottish Cup, the Scottish League Cup, and the Europa League runner-up position.

In fact, it was said that Gerrard, who is currently manager of Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, investigated the prospect of getting back together with Wright, a three-season starter for the Gers, last summer, but that move never came to pass.

“We’re putting a lot of effort into helping him add more stats to his game in the last third. I thought he was a real bright spark when he came on today. Exuberant, he perceives a pass, is constantly scanning forward, and seeks to pierce. He is swift, and his accolades came from yet another impressive showing.”

Ben Davies joined Blues from Rangers on a season-long loan, but Wright is expected to join Blues permanently. Wright now looks poised to increase Chris Davies’ options in the wide areas at St Andrew’s. He will give Ayumu Yokoyama, Keshi Anderson, Emil Hansson, and Koji Miyoshi more competition, as Siriki Dembele is expected to go and George Hall doesn’t seem to be in Davies’ short term plans.

According to Sky Sports, Wright went to the Second City to finish his medical check-up before the deadline on Friday night. Wright scored twelve goals in 120 games for the Glasgow team.
