Kicker claims that Maxence Lacroix, a center-back for VfL Wolfsburg, has agreed to join Crystal Palace.
As a replacement for Joachim Andersen, who recently left for Fulham, it had been earlier rumored that the Premier League team was anxious to bring the Frenchman to Selhurst Park before the end of the transfer window.
Now that a price has been agreed upon for the 24-year-old, it seems as though the transfer is almost final.
It’s claimed that Palace was only willing to pay about €15 million, while Wolfsburg was aiming to get €25 million for the defender.
However, a compromise has been reached, with Palace paying an estimated €18 million plus an additional €3 million in possible future add-ons.
According to the article, Die Wölfe intends to find a replacement for Lacroix and has already decided on Ismaël Doukouré of Strasbourg as their choice.
Even yet, they might have to go elsewhere because the Ligue 1 team is asking a high price for the 21-year-old’s services.
