Kabongo Tshimanga, the target of Swindon Town, has surfaced on Partick Thistle’s radar at Peterborough United, as reported by the Daily Record.
According to the Swindon Advertiser, Swindon Town is eager to sign the striker before the transfer window closes. To get his signature, they might now have to fend off competition from the Scottish Championship.
Since 2023, Tshimanga, 27, has been a member of Peterborough United’s roster. Since relocating to London Road, he has been loaned out to Fleetwood Town and Boreham Wood, and because of interest from other teams, his future is now uncertain until the end of the transfer window.
According to the Daily Record’s most recent report on his predicament, Partick Thistle may be considering enticing him across the border in an effort to strengthen their offensive unit. Despite finishing third in the table the previous season, the Glasgow team was ultimately unable to advance to the Scottish Premiership.
Tshimanga can be viewed by Swindon Town as someone who can increase their choices.
Mark Kennedy, their manager, recently stated to the Swindon Advertiser, “We would love to have him.” I don’t see the need in keeping that a secret—we would like to bring him in if we could. We must be among those who are observing him because he has a fantastic goal scoring record and has brought in a sizable sum of money.
Like any good attackers, we are 100% in for him if he is available. I have no idea what has transpired there, and it is none of my business. We truly enjoy him as a person.
Tshimanga played for the Cod Army during the initial part of the previous season, spending 20 games with Fleetwood Town and scoring two goals. He was then approached by Boreham Wood in January, when he scored seven goals in 16 games for the National League team.
The former England C international moved up to MK Dons and then into non-league football.
Tshimanga first signed with Boreham Wood in 2019 after stints at Oxford City and Boston United.
Before Chesterfield made a move for him, he scored 41 goals in 88 games for the Hertfordshire club.
The player, who was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was able to maintain his form with the Spirerites, scoring 33 goals in 53 games, which led to a transfer to Peterborough United.
But things haven’t exactly gone as planned during his time with the Posh, and now that Partick Thistle and Swindon Town are showing interest in him, his future is uncertain.
The man from Peterborough United, what’s next?
Tshimanga’s chances of making the Peterborough United starting lineup are slim.
As a result, an exit wouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Where he might wind up is still unknown, though.
