According to a TEAMtalk report, Leeds United is optimistic that they can complete a deal for Max Aarons, the full-back for Bournemouth.
During the last few days of the summer transfer window, Leeds United is a team that desperately needs more fresh players.
At Elland Road, the summer has not been easy. A lot of time passed before any significant deal could be completed, and many important players were let go, with Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter, and Crysencio Summerville all receiving moves to the Premier League.
Although Largie Ramazani’s signing is hoped to spark a late rush of activity, more work needs to be done before any degree of satisfaction with the summer’s transfer activity can be reached.
One individual who has been linked recently is Max Aarons of Bournemouth. He would offer a much-needed full-back alternative, and there is now information on the rumors.
TEAMtalk claims that Leeds United are becoming more optimistic that an agreement can be reached for Aarons. The 24-year-old, who was “deeply apologetic” for the failure of his Elland Road move last summer, is expected to be allowed to leave Bournemouth.
This latest update does not specify if it would be a loan or a long-term agreement, yet the first reports of the Whites’ interest suggested it was a transient measure.
Right now, Leeds United isn’t exactly endowed with depth in their squad. This is particularly true at full-back, where there aren’t many choices on the left or right wing.
fresh signee Right-back Jayden Bogle appears to be the preferred choice, with Junior Firpo occupying the left-back position. Sam Byram, however, can function on either side beyond them; a fourth alternative does not exist.
Despite being right-footed, Byram spent most of the previous season filling in on the left. Although he can’t do it alone, he will provide reliable cover once more this season.
Bogle would have some fierce competition on the right side if Aarons were to go. The Bournemouth player, like Byram, can also play on the left, giving Farke genuine options in a position that has appeared rather empty recently.
Following Ramazani through the doors at Elland Road, Manor Solomon (loan) makes Leeds United appear a little more competitive on the winger front.
Although many would prefer to see a proven striker recruited, Mateo Joseph appears to be guaranteed a starting position. The other choices up top will be Joel Gelhardt, Patrick Bamford, and Joel Piroe.
However, the midfield and center-back positions need to be prioritized.
Although skipper Ethan Ampadu can play both positions, there isn’t much depth in either. To prevent a scarcity akin to the one from the previous season, Farke needs more options in at least one of those categories.
