Southampton submit bid to sign 23 y/o who’s already scored 83 career goals

Southampton makes a bid to sign a 23-year-old who has 83 goals in his career.

Southampton has little time to make new hires.

As would be expected, Saints’ return to the Premier League has been somber, as they have dropped their first two games and picked up just zero points. Last Saturday, Russell Martin’s team suffered a disheartening home loss by the same score to Nottingham Forest after losing 1-0 on the road to 10-man Newcastle United. This put pressure on the team.

With both losses coming by a slim margin, there’s no reason to panic, but this week’s addition of more players would be perfect to guarantee Southampton has enough depth to at least survive until the January transfer window.

Saints have reportedly reached an agreement to acquire Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, and they have been considering goalkeeping possibilities all summer. The 26-year-old might be the perfect replacement for Alex McCarthy, who needs competition and possibly even an upgrade over the Englishman after playing a key role under new Liverpool head coach Arne Slot in the Netherlands.

According to an additional update, Southampton may have made a proposition to Benfica veteran Joao Mario, who saw success with Portugal at Euro 2016 eight years prior. They might view him as a seasoned midfield option to complement Martin’s arsenal of top talent and depth.

A fresh bid is made by Southampton for the 23-year-old forward.

Negotiations are reportedly “underway” over Southampton’s fresh bid for Corinthians attacker Yuri Alberto, according to Romano on X.

Alberto might be a noteworthy addition to the Saints in the summer. The compliments of his old teammate Edinilson reveal a player who has the potential to soar with the correct setup:Since Alberto moved here, I’ve thought he had a lot of potential. He has such enormous potential that I know we won’t have him here for long.”

In 129 games with Corinthians, he has amassed an outstanding 57 goal contributions (43 goals and 14 assists), and he has already received one Brazil cap. He has made 253 club appearances for several major South American clubs, scoring 83 goals and dishing out 24 assists overall. He also had a brief stint in Russia with Zenit.

Many supporters would find it exciting to think that Southampton would recruit a guy who has played for what is perhaps the most prestigious and famous country in world football. He is also still young enough to develop into a very good player.

This week, Martin feels that he needs more firepower. Their lack of threat in the last third has been highlighted by their first two league goals, so adding Alberto would offer them a boost in quality.
