Celtic eye second Norwich swoop as Pompey transfer stance made clear

Reports say that Celtic want to sign Abu Kamara, a forward who used to play for Pompey.

The Scottish Premiership team that will be in the UEFA Champions League this season paid £8.5 million to sign Adam Idah after a successful loan stay. They are now looking at Kamara, a teammate of Idah’s from Norwich City. In a tweet on Monday night, Football Insider writer Pete O’Rourke said that the Glasgow giants are keeping an eye on a move for the 21-year-old.

Many English teams, including Southampton, Leicester, Stoke, Brentford, and most recently Hull, have been linked with Kamara over the course of the year. Now, a move north of the border has been talked about. Even though there have been rumours of a transfer, Kamara is still in the running for a spot on the first team at Carrow Road. If Jonathan Rowe is sold, he might be ready to take a better playing chance in Norfolk.

Last season, he had 11 assists and 10 goals in League One. He came back to Norwich with a spring in his step and built his way into Johannes Hoff Thorup’s plans. Saturday, Kamara came on as a replacement in a 2-0 loss to Oxford United. On Tuesday, he scored a goal and set up another, which helped the Canaries beat Stevenage 4-3.

The Portsmouth manager talks about their newest exciting goal. The end of the transfer window is coming up quickly.

Kamara was a popular figure during his time on the South Coast, but a return is highly unlikely. Earlier this week, John Mousinho consigned himself to Kamara staying at Carrow Road following his breakthrough.

Speaking to The News on Monday, Mousinho said: ‘It (a Kamara move) is nowhere at the minute. He’s part of Norwich’s team and played at the weekend.‘As far as I know Norwich have no plan to sell or move Abu on. So that’s where we are with that one.

‘I don’t think it’s one we are going to be able to continue, unfortunately.

‘Yes (if the situation was to change they’d been keen to do a deal), everyone knows our love for Abu at this football club.’
