Celtics Legend Gives Knicks Backhanded Compliment…

It’s great that the Eastern Conference had such a scorching summer. The Philadelphia 76ers signed Paul George, the top free agent, while the Boston Celtics re-signed their relevant players. However, the New York Knicks had undoubtedly the busiest and most fruitful summer. The Knicks are the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, according to Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett, but with a twist.

“It goes the C’s, then the Knicks, then Phili,” Garnett said to Paul Pierce during an episode of Ticket and the Truth. The Knicks are always the subject of some buzz in New York, especially since the trade for Carmelo Anthony brought them their first superstar since Patrick Ewing. Nonetheless, the Knicks have their most skilled squad since 2011 after the 2024 summer.

The three best players for Tom Thibobeau’s squad are Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and Mikal Bridges for the “Villanova” Knicks. It’s strange that a current player, much less a Celtics great, would offer the Knicks any kind of compliment. But Garnett wouldn’t complement someone like that if there wasn’t a backhand to match.

“New York(Knicks) is trying to do something special… only problem is it’s a big ol buzzsaw right above them that’s a green buzzsaw that’s cutting everything in half,” Garnett stated.
