Fabrizio Romano: Ipswich Town now agree deal to sign “unbelievable” 25 y/o

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has asserted that Ipswich Town is close to finalizing the signing of yet another “unbelievable” talent.

News of an Ipswich Town move

The Premier League has not been kind to Kieran McKenna’s team thus far. They have lost their first two games and have experienced a steep decline in quality from the Championship to the top division. To be fair, they still had to play Manchester City and Liverpool, and their respective losses of 2-0 and 4-1 are not embarrassing.

To give themselves the best opportunity of avoiding relegation, Ipswich may believe that more signings are necessary during the summer transfer window. A lot of rumors have been circulating recently, suggesting that potential targets are still being considered.

With an announcement made on Saturday evening, Sunderland winger Jack Clarke became the tenth player to finalize a move to Portman Road before next Friday’s deadline, bolstering McKenna’s team with further offensive quality.

In an attempt to complete a transfer from Sheffield United, Anel Ahmedhodzic has also surfaced as a target for Ipswich. That being said, one defender is expected to be the eleventh acquisition of the window.

Deal to sign “unbelievable” player reached by Ipswich Town

Dara O’Shea, a center back for Burnley, has reportedly decided to join Suffolk, and the Irishman will sign a five-year contract at Portman Road, according to Romano on X:

O’Shea, who has a ton of experience but is still young enough to be a signing whose prime years are spent at the club, might be another smart addition for the Tractor Boys before the window shuts.

When the 25-year-old was still playing for West Brom, Slaven Bilic praised him for his accomplishments and he went on to become a 26-cap Republic of Ireland international.

“A major contributing factor to his progress is that he listens to everything. As he listens, he considers his strategy. He’s very much a sponge. He pays attention to your advice and works hard to raise his level of play, which is why his progress has been so astounding. It’s almost like a fairytale if you compare where he was at this point in the previous season to where he is now. But he merits everything.”

In addition, O’Shea has 61 Premier League appearances under his belt, which is crucial experience, so there’s no reason he couldn’t jump right in and contribute right away.
