After game week two, Ange Postecoglou will feel a lot better if he was upset by Tottenham Hotspur’s tie with Leicester City the previous week.
Despite the fact that Everton did not present Postecoglou’s team with the kind of challenge for which they were ready, Tottenham was outstanding against the visitors.
Against Sean Dyche’s team, the Spurs manager made a risky choice by starting five attackers ahead of midfielder Yves Bissouma as a lone pivot.
Postecoglou declined to just insert Richarlison into his eleven without Dominic Solanke.
Although Postecoglou’s suggestion to position Wilson Odobert on the left and Son Heung-min back through the middle worked well, Richarlison didn’t seem to be happy with that choice.
Odobert made a fantastic debut, which is why Vincent Kompany had previously expressed such high hopes for him.
Spurs’ strength was not limited to their offensive play; players like Christian Romero and Micky van de Ven were equally impressive in the rear.
Romero played a few careless passes throughout the first half, but when he was leaving for home, he most definitely demonstrated his superiority.
